How Cupid Got Her Magical Bow?

Chapter 1, Cupid

Once upon a time on Mount Olympus, the Gods needed a goddess who can bring love into the lives of deserving humans. They decided that they would merge their powers to create a little fairy who had the power to bring love and joy. Her name was Cupid. Cupid wore a pink dress and pink flowers as a crown. She had pretty pink wings and she was famous all through the world. But she herself did not understand what love is. Well, she shall know the truth of love.

Chapter 2, Coronation of Cupid

Cupid went to Athena‘s abode where she was welcomed by Athena‘s pet owl. She wandered around the grand palace till she stumbled into the grand hall where on top of a platform Athena sat proudly on her magnificent throne. Cupid tried to find a way up when Athena‘s second pet, a fire Phoenix named flame, came gliding down below. He asked Cupid to climb on his back and flew up to the platform. 

“I have got you your little princess fairy..” whispered Flame.

“Yes”, replied Athena looking at the little fearless fairy.

“Hello your mighty Majesty,” said Cupid. 

“Yes, my dear fairy, what do you desire from me?” said Athena.

“Majesty, I just came to ask you what is love and how should I be of service to Olympus and the higher and the lower realms of humans” said Cupid in an instant.

Surprised, Athena said “First of all love means well…………… When two people super duper like each other. And second, just be kind and helpful to bring love to the people. I give you a bow made of sugarcane and an arrow made of lotus flowers and sticks of a Banyan tree. Here, take it.” Athena said, giving her bow and arrow. 

“Take them along. Now I have to deal with the problems involving the demons of the lower realms” said Athena, giving Cupid a friendly push.

“But I can help with that,” said Cupid.

“No Cupid. It’s way too dangerous. I forbid you to do anything related to this subject please. I am doing this for your own safety.” said Athena sternly.

“Yes mother,” said Cupid.

“Mother?” said Athena, confused.

“Yes, you said that your own power created me. So, in a way, you are my mom.” said Cupid.

Athena replied “Very well. Now go fulfill the day’s duties assigned to you. Bye daughter.”

“Bye mom” said Cupid as she ran away leaving pink magical dust like a trail. She waved at the flame and he turned around as if to wave back. She giggled and ran away. Once she reached home, she sat on the sofa and thought to herself. Mom was acting strange when I wanted to help with the demon or devil. Never mind, I got a sugarcane bow and a flower and Banyan tree stick arrow. Then suddenly there came a knock on the door.” Who can that be?” she asked herself as she went to her beautiful decorated door and opened it and went to the mailbox. There was an envelope signed by Athena-Cupid‘s mom. Inside, it was written “Dear Cupid, get ready for your coronation as a princess at tonight’s ball. Love Athena.”

Cupid was almost surprised. She was not really ready to become a princess, she thought. But she had no choice and went to her closet and took out a beautiful dress. As she got ready, came a ding dong from the doorbell. She slipped on pink heels, and outside the door was a beautiful carriage, pulled by four golden tails and main unicorns. “Oh”, she said in surprise, “Come on in” said a silver white rabbit. She quickly ran inside and got her purse and went inside the pretty carriage. They soon took a beautiful ride through the town and reached the ball. Oh, how beautiful and grand. And there is flame and Athena too. Oops, I mean mom. Everyone be quiet please. Our future princess is arriving through the door onto the grand glass stairway. Cupid came onto the platform.

“From this day onwards, I declare Cupid, the princess of love” said Athena loudly, and the crowd burst into applause. So from that day, Cupid was the princess of love.
