‘The Quest For The Comic Book’ Story by 13 year old Bookosmian from Chennai

Read with Sara story by V. Hari Venkata Narayanan

On a hot day of summer, Julian went to a book store to buy some comics. There he found a newly released book which was kept in the showcase for the view of the customers. He was delighted to see the book and wanted to buy it. But he had only two hundred rupees whereas the cost of the book was rupees three hundred. He was thinking what to do. Then he went to his home and asked his mother about another hundred rupees. She refused so he was sad.

He again went to the book store and requested the shopkeeper to give the book for rupees two hundred. But the shopkeeper refused. Then, as usual, he went to his school. His friend Rajesh told him that he lost his precious ring. They tried looking for it but could not find it. Julian took his dog Timmy with him the next evening to find Rajesh’s ring. But, even Timmy failed to find it.

The next day when he returned home from school, he realized Timmy is missing. He panicked and started searching for him. Finally he came to a huge house at the end of the locality which was usually empty. Near the entrance of the gate he found Timmy’s dog belt.

`

He decided to call the police and inform them to be on the safer side instead of going to a stranger’s house.   The cops arrived and knocked on the door.A huge, red-haired man opened the door.  He was a burglar who they were searching for several months. At his home they freed Timmy and Rajesh’s ring which had gone missing.

So Timmy had managed to find the ring after all!

As Julian helped Rajesh find his ring, he gave him the comic which he wanted (the newly released one). Julian was delighted and everyone was happy.
