Father’s Day – Thank You Dads | Kavya Mehta,14, Mumbai

Father's day Thank you .pexels

Father’s Day is a day of honouring fatherhood. It is believed that this special day was celebrated for the first time in 1910.

All of us know that a father is just as important for a child as the mother is.

If mothers are the heroes of child rearing, the significance of father in the development and emotional well-being of a child is no less.

Children depend on their father for their spiritual, emotional, physical, financial and social well-being. For daughters, father is the ideal man in the world and also the first man they adore, while for sons, father is an idol and the strongest man they aspire to emulate.

Fathers are capable caretakers and disciplinarians. Their unconditional love is no less than mothers.

More often than not, children take the love of their parents for granted.

Celebration of Father’s Day makes them ponder for a while on the important role their father plays in their life. This helps them appreciate the selfless care and protection provided by their father and hence they come emotionally closer to their dad.

The presence and involvement of a father is unlike anything else in the universe. That’s because dads mimic what our heavenly Father does for us, his children—he protects, shelters, comforts and loves.

“The most precious things a father can provide are time, attention and love.” -Tim Russert.

My father always tells me that I am growing up real quick but no matter how tall I get, I will always look up to my father.
