It’s Holi! And here I am, your best friend Sara, bringing to you festive stories from across the globe. 8 year old Swara Bhandari, a Bookosmian from Kolkata loves playing water and colours and has a few pranks up her sleeve too! Tell us about your celebrations!
Swara is a student of Word Munchers and goes to Modern High School for Girls.
Holi is the festival of colors. Holi marks the end of the spring season and the beginning of summers.
I love playing Holi because I get to play with water and colors. A day before Holi, we go to a park and see lots of fire. My parents told me that this fire is lit, to celebrate the victory of good over evil.
Every year, I get new water guns from my parents and this year they brought me a swimming pool too. On the morning of Holi, we put colors on all our gods.
My sisters and I play pranks on each other. My cousins and friends too come to enjoy with us. My sisters and I fill small balloons with water one day before Holi.
We throw these water balloons at all our cousins and friends. Then we put colors on each other and play with water for the whole day.
Playing Holi is lots of fun. I love playing with water and colors. Holi is the best festival ever.
