‘Jaisalmer – A trip I Will Never Forget’ Place review by 9 year old Bookosmian from Kolkata
Hey everyone, Sara here! Welcome to my ‘Places with Sara‘ section
It’s the weekend! And here I am, your best friend getting you a virtual tour of beautiful places, courtesy our friends!
Here’s 9 year old Atreyo Bhattacharyya from Kolkata telling us all about his visit to Jaisalmer.
Atreyo is a student of Word Munchers and goes to The Heritage School.
Last year, my family and I went to Jaisalmer.
Jaisalmer is a fascinating city because it has historical palaces, monuments and forts.
So we went to the airport and boarded a flight. It took about 3 hours to reach there.
When we went there we hired a car and then went to our hotel.
The hotel’s name was Priyadarshini. It was very big where there were games such as lawn tennis, tennis, badminton, basketball.
There was a guide with us and a driver uncle. That day we stayed in the hotel.
The next morning, my family and I woke up and after some time we were ready. So we got inside our car went for sightseeing.
The people were very polite and kind. We also saw people playing musical instruments on the streets.
We clicked pictures and videos of the people playing musical instruments. After sightseeing, we went shopping.
After 1 ½ hours our bags were full, so we went back to our hotel and rested for some time. By now it was afternoon, so we went to the dining room and ate Papad ki subzi, Dal baati churma and Rabri.
After lunch, we went to “Sonar Kella”. While I was entering the gate, I looked up and to my surprise, I saw many bats hanging on top. I stared at them in surprise for a few seconds.
Inside I saw that everything was made out of yellow sandstone. Even there were wall paintings drawn on the walls.
Then I went to see the majestic rooms where kings and queens used to live. They were very big and spacious, some of them were even made of glass and some of them were half broken.
After exploring all the rooms, we went to see the view from the topmost part of the fort. When we went there, we saw that the whole city was visible from the top. And I was dumbstruck with amazement because all the buildings were made out of yellow sandstone. Then we clicked pictures of the whole city from the top.
The next day we got inside the car and went to the Thar Desert. When we went there, we kept our car near a cottage.
From the cottage, we could see many camels, and the people were greeting us to ride the camels. We even clicked pictures of the camels. Then my father and I had a wonderful ride on one camel and my mother on another camel. The camel stood up with a sudden jerk.
After riding on the camel for some time, we were tired.
I will never forget the beautiful sunset in the Thar desert. We sat on the sand and watched and listened to the music of the musical instruments being played by the local people.
The weather was cold and chilly. We spent the night there. The next morning we woke up and started our journey back home. I will always cherish this memory of the big forts, the food and above all, the camel ride.
