Ganesh Chaturthi – What Is It And Why Do We Celebrate This Festival? | Bookosmia
Hey everyone! Your friend, Sara here.
Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated to mark the birth of lord Ganesh. He is the God of new beginnings and fresh starts.
According to the Hindu calendar, this festival falls in the month of Bhadra. And according to the Gregorian Calendar this festival falls in the month of August or September.
Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated in many cities like Maharashtra, Gujarat and Karnataka.
On Ganesh Chaturthi, my mother cleans the God and Goddesses. We together decorate our house with flowers, we worship lord Ganesh and feed him his favorite sweet modhak.
All of the festivals are important for us because they are a part of our tradition, culture and religion.
