Who likes a mess? | Comic Strip on Autism

Children with autism like to line things up or arrange them in the same particular manner every time. They will line up their toys, Legos, books or things in the house they take fancy to. While most kids may display this behaviour of keeping their things a certain way, children with autism line things up exactly the same way all the time and they find it unnerving if that pattern is broken. Familiarity comforts them, patterns make them feel in control and if things are moved, it can cause them a lot of anxiety. Constant lining up of toys could be well read as one of the first red flags in detecting autism.
